Projects with Pride Sees Record Breaking Numbers!

Claire Willis, STEM Business Development Manager attended the celebration on behalf on the North East STEM Hub and comments: 

"The North East STEM hub were delighted to be involved for the first year with the Projects with pride awards. So many inspiring young people doing some incredible work in their local communities often under challenging circumstances. A huge well done to everyone who was shortlisted and what a fantastic event to be a part of."

Biggest cheer of the night was reserved for Stephen Davison from Durham Area Youth who picked up the Community Champion of the year but it was the amazing Streetwise who picked up the Projects with Pride Award 2022, for their project “Speak Out Together”. With TV coverage from Tyne Tees and Tyne & Wear TV, NE Youth celebrated a record number of nominees all whom were recognised on the night.

Congratulations to all of the winners who were, Community Champion of the Year – Stephen Davison (Durham Area Youth), Youth Worker of the Year – Heba Turki (N.E.S.T), Outstanding Contribution to Health & Wellbeing, through Sports, Leisure and Culture of The Year – N.E.S.T, Young Achiever of the Year -   Adrian Balog (Creative Youth Opportunities), Project with Pride of the Year – Speak out Together (Streetwise Young Peoples Project), Volunteer of the Year - Kareem Kalthoum (N.E.S.T), Young Volunteer of the Year – Tilly Guest (Flying Futures), Trustee of the Year – Jeffrey Ball (Rockets Community Foundation), Social Action of the Year – B.O.P Fest (Jack Drum Arts), Partnership of the Year - Inspire Performance in partnership with South Tyneside Youth Service (South Tyneside Youth Service), Most Improved of the Year – Buffalo Youth Project (Cowpen Quay Association).
