
Pathways to Innovation is a programme designed to help Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) protect and commercialise new technologies, products, services and processes and access new markets.
Supporting the NE LEP's strategic economic plan, Pathways to Innovation is particularly aimed at businesses in; and can provide up to 35% funding for projects.
The programme is funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is delivered by RTC North in partnership with the Business & Intellectual Property Centre Newcastle.
Pathways to Innovation gives companies access to one to one support from specialist innovation advisors with expertise in market research and competitor analysis, IP commercialisation and product licensing.
Businesses joining the programme will also get access to a rolling programme of one to many masterclasses and workshops and may also qualify for a grant to part fund work with external experts.

Who can apply?
To be able to receive support from this programme, you need to be:
- Small to Medium Sized enterprise (less than 250 employees), based in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham
- Operating in the sectors of Healthcare & Life Sciences; Advanced Manufacturing, Offshore & Energy Technologies; IT, Software, Creative & Digital
