The Regional Mentoring Programme - funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company in collaboration with the North East and Tees Valley LEPs - aims to provide insight, support, and expertise to young people in the run-up to their GCSEs, to support career aspirations and demonstrate more positive outcomes in school, work, and life.
It is designed to create positive interactions between young people and industry ambassadors that empower and motivate both the business mentor and mentee.
The programme aims to motivate, inspire and bring learning and career opportunities to life for school children while giving them a glimpse of future careers in preparation for life after school.
The programme runs over the academic year, with 15 individual meetings between the mentor and mentee taking place at the school.
Mentors benefit from a full training programme, access to a comprehensive set of resources, attendance at training and support sessions as well as on-hand support if needed.
