Supply Chain North East urges businesses to get EU Exit Ready

As the double digit countdown has begun, Supply Chain North East urges businesses to ensure they are EU Exit ready.

For the last six months businesses in the North East have focused on surviving and adapting to stay afloat during this COVID crisis, that many have not had time to think about the EU Exit and what this means.

Legislation which will be changed overnight, and many businesses are not prepared for what will happen as we enter 2021. Alan Whittaker, Programme Manager of Supply Chain North East said:

“It is now more important than ever to stop and ensure all systems and processes are put in place. But this does not have to be a daunting experience, we want to let the region know that we are here to help.

“We are excited to have Neil Warwick, one of the UK’s top EU Competition lawyers and experts, join us and share the facts on EU Exit and how it will affect businesses, and how to mitigate any impact. Attendees will leave the event with a better understanding of the current political landscape and have identified the key areas of risk, and ways to mitigate any impacts of EU exit.

“Along with our expert advisors we are running a whole series of themed workshops designed and dedicated to ensuring businesses receive the most up to date news on new policies that are being put into place and what this means. Additional to this we want to work with businesses to explore their supply chain, explore the options closer to home and those further afield and ensure opportunities are maximised.

“Supply Chain North East was created to support business to enter new markets, diversify their offering and grow their customer base. And this is exactly what we will continue to do whilst ensuring all our local businesses are ready to adapt to the changing landscape caused by the EU Exit.

“The team have worked hard to pull together a suite of workshops to support businesses in understanding what changes will need to happen and we want to use this to ensure businesses are ready to storm into 2021 and take charge of their future.”
