STEM joins Showcase Tees Valley

27th Apr 2022

The North East STEM Hub will be joining over 200 attendees at Showcase Tees Valley on 4th May with the aim of helping to close the gap between education and industry.

Taking place at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough, Tees Valley businesses can hear about supply chain opportunities from those involved in some of the UK’s largest industrial projects, including HS2 and the Dogger Bank and Sofia windfarms.

Showcase Tees Valley 2022 will feature over 12 speakers representing businesses and organisations operating across key sectors, including infrastructure and construction, advanced manufacturing, offshore, and renewable energy. Janine Marshall, STEM Hub Contract Manager explains:

“We are delighted to be part of the Showcase, delivering a joint session with Primary Engineer we will be addressing the key issues affecting businesses in relation to attracting the right skills of their future workforce, accessing future talent and therefore future proofing the business.

“Over 80 percent of the skills we need in the future are currently unknown so how do we collectively as businesses plan. It is important as businesses and education providers that we work together to bridge this gap and in the session we will investigate the extensive work going on to make this happen in our region.”
