What are the tangible benefits of implementing ISO management systems and how do we know if its it’s right for us?

About this event

Join us for a half day workshop to discover and deepen your understanding of the tangible benefits of implementing ISO management systems in your business and how to decide if it’s right for you.

The workshop will provide a pragmatic perspective for small business owners and Directors, operational and compliance managers and any business seeking to improve their internal processes.

Additionally, the presentation will also highlight the business development potential for ISO accredited companies.

An overview of the UKCA marketing system will also be included within this workshop – an essential for any company who currently have CE marking, use or sell CE marked products . UKCA (UK Conformity Assessment) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking, known as ‘new approach’ goods.

UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021. However, to allow businesses time to adjust to the new requirements, a staged approach has allowed CE marking to remain in place until 31 December 2022, when UKCA marking takes over from I January 2023, with further changes in 2024.

Topics covered within the workshop:

  • The real value and benefits of ISO management systems for your business.
  • The buyer’s (your customer’s) perspective on ISO management systems and certification.
  • The structure of ISO management systems and how they can integrate with other Standards.
  • The process for independent third-party verification and the value of (and difference between) certification and accreditation.
  • The fundamental principles underpinning ISO management systems.
  • Assessing the investment in and returns from ISO management systems for your business.
  • Planning, design and implementation strategy – dos and don’ts.
  • Principle of changes from CE to UKCA
  • Your role(s) and responsibilities under UKCA
  • The UKCA roles and responsibilities of third parties
  • UK requirements for Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) and Northern Ireland
  • Q&A. Hints, tips and where to get more help if you need it.

On completion of the workshop, delegates will:

  • Understand the potential value of ISO management systems and certification to their business.
  • Be able to contribute to / make an informed decision about the implementation of ISO managements systems in their business
  • Be aware of the requirements of the United Kingdom Conformity Assessment (UKCA) process and how to ensure their products comply.
