North East Regional Mentoring Programme

Mentoring opportunities in your local area: Volunteers required

RTC North are hugely passionate about creating opportunities to inspire young people, offering activities that motivate, inspire and bring learning and career opportunities to life. The business world is very different from school or college therefore it is vitally important to give young people a glimpse of future careers and help prepare them for life after school.

Young people with mentors...

  • raise their career aspirations
  • possess a more positive vision of themselves and their future
  • demonstrate more positive outcomes in schools, work and life

The opportunity to interact with inspiring business role models has therefore never been more important. The project is currently recruiting volunteer mentors and local employers who are actively looking for ways to motivate and develop their workforce whilst raising the profile of the business. In exchange mentors will play an active part in inspiring the next generation.

The Regional Mentoring Programme, funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company and delivered in conjunction with the North East and Tees Valley LEPs runs through to June 2018, with 15 individual meetings between the mentor and mentee taking place at the school during term time.

Each mentor will...

  • access a full training programme
  • access a comprehensive set of resources to enable the most effective mentor-mentee relationship
  • be part of the wider mentoring network for specialised support, advice and guidance

This regional mentoring programme is funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company, delivered by RTC North in conjunction with the North East and Tees Valley LEPs.
