From Robots to Rockets: STEMFest Y&H Has Arrived

25th Jun 2025

STEMFest returns to the Yorkshire and Humber region for the second consecutive year. The event will take place at the Life Centre in Bradford, from Tuesday June 24 to Thursday June 26.

Organised by the Yorkshire and Humber STEM Hub and delivered by RTC North, STEMFest aims to inspire around 3,000 schoolchildren aged 10-13 years from the Yorkshire region to explore the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) industries.

STEMFest will feature interactive, STEM-themed zones where students can take part in hands-on activities led by industry experts. There will be a variety of exciting activities alongside the main exhibition, including an ethical hacking workshop with CyberFirst, an Immersive Experience Planetarium that simulates a journey through space and a Mars Mapping activity hosted by Jim Christensen, former Director of Education at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Designed to introduce young people to various roles within the STEM fields, the event aims to ignite passion and inspire the next generation.

These events would not be possible without the generous support of organisations. We are proud to recognise the contributions of this year’s supporters, including Cummins, Ward and Burke and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. We are proud to collaborate with organisations that share our passion and values of supporting the youth in the region to ensure a bright future.

Claire Willis, Team Leader at the STEM Hub comments:

“We are delighted to bring STEMFest back to Bradford in their City of Culture year. It is great to have the support of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Cummins and Ward and Burke. We are looking forward to welcoming over 50 local STEM businesses and around 3,000 young people over the next three days.

West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin comments:

"Having STEMFest right here in our region is absolutely crucial, as these skills will be key to unlocking the incredible £26 billion of economic growth we're targeting through our ambitious Local Growth Plan.

"Investing in STEM education isn't just important - it's the vital pipeline we need to inspire and empower our next generation with the skills needed for the innovative industries of tomorrow.

"From groundbreaking healthtech to cutting-edge advanced manufacturing, this is how we’ll support our fastest growing sectors and build a brighter West Yorkshire that works for all."
