Becoming a STEM Ambassador just felt right. I’ve always believed in the power of sharing skills and breaking down barriers—and this role gave me the perfect platform to do both. From the very first session, I knew I was in the right place. There’s something magical about watching a young person’s eyes light up when they finally grasp a tricky concept. Those “aha!” moments? They’re everything.

But it’s not just about giving back. Being a STEM Ambassador has sharpened my own skills too—especially when it comes to communicating complex ideas in ways that actually stick. It’s not about lecturing; it’s about making STEM exciting, accessible, and a little less intimidating. And the people I’ve met along the way? Incredible. It’s been a journey of learning, connecting, and hopefully, making a difference.

As a relatively new Ambassador, I dove straight in—mentoring young innovators in the West Yorkshire Mayor’s BIG Ideas Challenge. From shaping ideas to prototyping and pitching, it’s been fast-paced and hands-on, and I’ve loved every second. Next up? STEMfest West Yorkshire! I’m not sure exactly what to expect, but I’m ready to dive in and see where it leads.

When I engage with different age groups, I keep it real—high energy, relatable, and fun. Less talk, more doing. Games, challenges, storytelling—whatever it takes to make STEM feel exciting and personal. The biggest challenge? Helping young people believe in themselves and their creativity. But that’s also the most rewarding part.
