The Challenge

Shannon Harvey, Head of Research at Production Park said:

“Innovation makes us a quite an interesting business.

“We’ve put together stage automation and scenic elements that move and are quite extraordinary and have met safety standards above and beyond what anyone else has.

The Solution

“Over the last 18 months we have been looking into how we can develop our business around innovation and research and during that time we got on the Innovate 2 Succeed (I2S) programme along with some other organisations.

“We wanted to look at how we can really grow our business and look at becoming more of a technology business as oppose to projects-focused business and innovation has been a real driving factor over the past year.

“The I2S programme has really helped with understanding the core of our IP and getting a starting point on where that conversation goes, really helping us to clarify around innovation and around research and figure out how we monetise that and how to create impact within the business and getting that first hand advice on how we can utilize those services.

The Result

“I think the real key is you have to be aware of what’s going on, I think the networking that I have been able to do over the past 18 months has really been of huge benefit to the business, being out there, talking about what you’re doing, talking to other businesses and finding out how they are accessing funding and support that they need for their growth.”
