Engineering & Manufacturing

Thirty years ago, it would have been hard to imagine how things have changed for in the global manufacturing industry.

No longer can manufacturers compete on cost alone and draw on an endless reservoir of energy and resource.

Global competition from low wage economies has driven modern manufacturing in the West to a new level and demands the production of smarter better quality goods in the most efficient way possible.

Innovation in prototyping, machinery, tooling, coatings, materials and power systems – among others – have created a modern manufacturing environment which would have been unrecognizable to the forefathers of manufacturing and engineering.

And it’s in these high value advanced areas that the West can still compete with lower wage economies. Manufacturing in these economies is not out of date, the industry is simply coming to terms with an era where technological advance is transforming the way we do business.
